Been in for 12 years (US Air Force). It has been a great experience. With that being said, it has been tough at some points. But for the most part, no one cares and is very encouraging to try and help me. We make jokes about it (that is how I get around it and settle my nerves). Once you get comfortable with them they will make you comfortable.
