You need to take risks. I transferred schools and since I was not a freshman there was no orientation or anything like that. I knew absolutely noone. The first week I'm in the cafeteria looking where to sit. I gave myself 2 choices. Sit by myself or there was another guy sitting by himself. I knew I had to make friends or it was going to be a very long year. I asked if I could sit down. I met great friends through this one person and we turned out to be a close knit group for the next 3 years. It was a great experience and if I didn't take that initial risk none of it would have happened.
