I got past my social anxiety because my best friend was pretty outgoing and we just invited each other whenever we went out with friends who the other, or both of us, didn’t really know. It’s good to have an “anchor” I guess. I don’t stutter as much when I’m with someone who I’m close with and comfortable around, especially when we’re with other people I don’t know that well. Like I don’t really care to talk much when around a bunch of strangers by myself but I get pretty outgoing when with friends so when I’m around other people, it gets pretty easy to make friends who you eventually become comfortable being around, and so on.
