Having been in OP's position, I imagine reading 'you just need to accept it at some point' will be frustrating. I agree on principle but I also know what it's like to be at the bottom of a hole with it feeling like it's ruining your life. OP, the people around you will make or break how you experience life as a stutterer. Find patient, loving people, and suddenly stuttering ain't so bad anymore. Maybe you'll even find moments to laugh about it. But those downsides to stuttering melt away when you can fill your life with good people, and that gets easier as you get older. Acceptance takes work. A great place to start is an emotional support group or community online. Doesn't have to be stutter-specific. Just a safe place with safe people who accept you.
