Hi Margaux ! It's pretty lame that your grandparents does that. Maybe they do it because they think that it's the way to solve it, you know, the "old mentality" : "Force more and it will works", but they don't really understand the stuff going on here. Wait sometimes, and tried to talked about it with them again. Maybe involve the others people in your family too, see if they can make your grand-parents understand what a stutter is. And... if it doesn't worked, don't worry, you will still be able to fulfill your dream. I am french too, and I have done some research when my dad was threatening me to not pay for my studies too. Despise the fact that you will maybe be able to have a scholarship (it can be high if your family has not a good income. Try to apply even if you are not sure, me I was surprised that I got one), I found something stronger : the law protects you. In a family, we have the : "Duty of assistance". We need (it's mandatory) to take care of each other. Like grand-childrens that needs to pay for the retirement home of their grand-parents if they cannot. But the reverse exists too. It's called the : "obligation of maintenance" (sorry for the bad translation): when you are minor or until 25 years if you want to study, your family needs to take care of everything : your food, your school,... If your parents cannot pay for your studies, your grand-parents needs to do it. Otherwise, they can face 2 years in jail and a fee of 15 000€.
