I just filled one out. In a nutshell, I practice meditation, yoga, and have done speech therapy. I no longer use strategies i've learned from speech therapy but would consider meditation integral in my daily life. With that said, meditation/yoga is not a solution and only provides a marginal improvement for high stress situations which is anything involving a stutterer having to hold a conversation that lasts for several minutes with a non-stutterer. One must understand the eb and flow of conversation in addition to having a clear mind. Speech therapy teaches stutterers how to speak using a modified voice that ultimately makes it impossible to find the said "eb and flow of conversation" with a non-stutterer which is why stutterers regress after they complete therapy. Nice to see meditation is being introduced but here's hoping that they start teaching mechanics the right way someday. Those celebrities listed above this page (i.e. Emily Blunt) speaks with the correct mechanics of speech and a clear mind. She should be the prototype model for a recovered stutterer for SLPs.
