I feel the exact same way, for some reason my stutter is worse when talking on the phone, I can't help it, ill be on the line just completely stuck can't get 1 word out and then just say im sorry and hang up or they'll just hang up on me. Luckily for text messages and my wife who is very understanding of me and she'll help me with making calls for whatever like appointments, reservations, etc.
