I always look back at my own speech therapy the very day I started stuttering in 3rd grade as a moment where I received a label. I think that I would have grown out of it, if I hadn't been labeled. I don't know what your situation is, but if you're a single parent and there's a mommy or daddy out there... why don't you send your kid over there for long summers? You might find that he grows of the problem that you are unwittingly modeling for him. As a boy, I ALWAYS wanted to live with my my dad for at least months at a time, and at the age your son is, it's about time for him to be learning how to grow up and be a man.
