For those reading, this is not a 'cure', or a 'fix', this is a management technique. You're distracting your brain by doing this activity (it can be any activity). And the psychological confirmation bias of 'stuttering less' while doing this boosts your self-confidence, which causes you to stutter less. However, these tricks are short-lived. It's a distraction exercise and when the distraction no longer tricks your brain, the stutter comes back. And with it, a crash of low self-confidence. And then typically the 'quick fix' searcher will seek out yet another distraction technique and the cycle continues. It's akin to fad dieting - you lose a lot of weight quickly but then gain it all back later on because fad diets don't work. And distraction tricks don't work in the long run. What does work is boosting self-confidence. Accepting yourself as good person, stutter and all, and then being proud of who you are and even how you talk. So enjoy your trick while it lasts. And then one day you'll need to seek out the real 'fix' which is self-acceptance.
