If you're trying to win an argument and somebody makes fun of your stutter, you just won the argument. Doesn't even matter what the argument is. You could have been completely in the wrong at the start of the argument. But once they make fun of you, that's like finding the golden ticket to the chocolate factory. All you have to do is capitalize on it.
