One thing I've seen suggested on here that feels like it could help is making a list, a list in ascending order of dreaded things, from least dread (but still dread) to most dread. The list will be somewhat different for everyone, but say, starting with saying "hi" to a stranger, and ending with making phone calls,or a presentation of some sort, or whatever the most feared thing you can think of is. You do the first thing. Over and over until you become almost desensitized to it. Then you move to the next thing, do the same, etc. Until one day you're making phone calls that you don't have to make, and doing the same with that. It's a kind of exposure therapy, right, but you don't have to pay for the therapist or the program. Ha. Tho, of course, for some, the pressure and structure of a program is very useful. But one can do that for oneself. It can be possible. Just an idea.
