I know most of us, myself included, get annoyed when people write off stuttering as just "being nervous" but there is definitely a psychological element. When you're alone, there is no *pressure* to be fluent. If you're like me, you stutter less when alone because you're not worried about stuttering. I know it's hard but making a conscious effort to apply that mindset to my everyday life helped me tremendously. Once I stopped caring if I stuttered (again, very difficult, I know) my fluency improved a lot. Good luck, and remember: you have a stutter, *the stutter does not have you*.
