I will answer here and then we can go to DM if necessary. There’s no reason to bring it to the child’s attention *because they already know*. And if they don’t, that’s the best possible scenario. Also praising whrn they don’t stutter feels harmful, for similar reasons, but also bc it’s sending the message that speaking with repetitions is something bad to be ashamed of. Who is suggesting the above to you? If it’s a SLP, please ask them how many classes they took on dysfluency. If the answer is one or less, they are doing more damage with those suggestions.
