Just from my own experience, I could see some stutters using alcohol as a crutch with some social situations. I certainly did. With that said, whenever alcohol has come up on this subreddit, some stutters say it improves their speech while others have the opposite reaction. It just depends on the person. I think there are several key factors and that would contribute to alcoholism and while stuttering may be a factor, I think there are more significant ones (however, it depends on ones relationship with their stutter). For anyone who would like to change an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, I'd recommend the subreddit r/stopdrinking \- similar to this community, I've found it to be very supportive and helpful
