This, also you can go talk to your professors one-on-one (if you're at a smaller school) and explain the situation. That's what I did at the start of every semester for courses where I had to public speak. This way the prof understood to grade me specifically on the content of my speech vs. the delivery itself. ​ Now, this doesn't help with the social embarrassment part. To be honest this part will just suck. But, the more you do it the less you'll care and ironically - at least for me - the less I care, the less I stutter. ​ Hang in there, not the first one to have to do this.
