I personally think that the description of approach avoidance conflict as "desire-fear conflict" is therefore incomplete and invalid. Likely a more valid description, in my opinion, is a conflict between "expectations to execute speech" (distal causes) **VS** "needs to increase or decrease certain stimuli to execute speech on a milli-second timeframe" (proximal causes)
