We're mostly generalists. Specialization happens after graduation, and yes, there are certifications you can get (the Lidcombe program comes to mind). If you are seeking therapy, it's a good idea to make sure the SLP you are seeing has loads of experience and is certified, because it's totally possible to be a practicing SLP with only a single course in stuttering/fluency.
