Listen to his speeches and you'll see that he definitely still stuttered. He went over his speeches and replaced problem words and practiced over and over with Logue, but you can still hear it. That's why he's one of my role models. Unlike a lot of the famous people who supposedly stuttered and overcame it, it's very obvious from listening to him that he clearly had a stutter and that though he brought under control, it wasn't totally eliminated. From all accounts he worked extremely hard at speech therapy in order to overcome it so he could do his duty and give speeches. I have my doubts about a lot of celebrities (was the stutter very mild to begin with... was it just the sort of childhood stutter that people outgrow, etc), but he's the real thing.
