In school, half the teachers didn't ask me to read out loud, the other half always did. I wasn't bothered either way. For my college presentations, I have requested to do them in private, and there's been no problem assigning me a different room. But after my last presentation, it went well enough to make me decide that I'd like to do my next one in front of my class. It's just about what makes you comfortable, as far as I see it.
