I have not tried that, but the drug you listed is a SSRI antidepressant, and also helps with anxiety; Perhaps the improvement came from less anxiety during speech rather than the inherent effects of the drug? We do know that stress can exacerbate stuttering, and there is always the placebo effect where a drug may make you feel better and less stressed. I am not a doctor so pardon my ignorance but I can't see myself relying on drugs for the rest of my life. Long term side effects of antidepressants may also be quite disturbing, which you should take note of and consult your therapist (assume the drugs are prescribed). Perhaps meditation, support from peers, and stress relief can work in place of these drugs? I am trying these strategies and have had positive, albeit unstable, results.
