I'm sorry you had to go through 38 sessions of positivity and useless techniques. Finding a therapist who truly understands stuttering and has a strategy for you on how to communicate well and thrive is the most important part of therapy imo. It's definitely not easy to find as the majority of slps know little about stuttering and even less about how to effectively deal with it. But when you find one who does, it is totally worth it. They're out there. Contact the NSA for they might be able to refer you to someone in your area. My opinion, stay away from the ones who teach "techniques" and "control".
