I've taught high school for 20 years. It's way past my bedtime, but the short pep talk is 1. Yes, you can (maybe :) ) 2. Open day 1 with "I stutter, and this is what you do if I get stuck" 3. There are no tricks to getting better at public speaking, other than going out and doing it. So if you want to do this, find opportunities to practice in the mean time. 4. Your teaching voice is different from your conversational voice. Disfluency in one doesn't always translate to disfluency in the other. 5. I always have a mug of coffee/water/soda with me when I teach... lube up the works :)
