Honestly this is all very true. My last SLP took a CBT approach to our therapy and really helped me let go of some of the internalized shame I’ve built up over the years. A lot of it is mental, but it takes a while to build up. And it is really hard to rewire ourselves, but a lot of it really is up to us to put in the work, but sometimes people aren’t to that point yet. it takes a lot of time and compassion to achieve.
