It actually started with his teacher at school who recommended he be tested by the school SLP. The school SLP is the one who recommended we get a private SLP since my son's stutter was so severe. My son never said anything about it to me before that, but after his diagnosis I asked him if he wanted to go to therapy and he said yes.
