It'll get worse before it gets better. Know this and hang in there. Working a job with public interaction will definitely be challenging, but it's the challenge that will make you explore new ways of dealing with the stuttering. Keep at it and ask yourself "What's the worse that could happen?". Most customers are understanding and just don't know how to react, so don't let their non-reaction get to your head.
