Why do I stutter less in front of immigrants with an accent? So I've noticed I stutter way way less when interacting immigrants who have an accent. I myself am an immigrant but I don't have an accent for the most part and am quite fluent but because of my stutter it doesnt come off that way to a native speaker. I think maybe it's because immigrants usually fumble on words and dont speak fast like native speakers.I feel more comfortable when talking to them and maybe that motivates me. Whatever it is, I want to investigate it further cuz it maybe key to unlocking the root psychological cause. And since my stutter is mostly psychological if I can deal with that who knows where I can go from there. What do you guys think?
