My dad. He stuttered till he was 40. Not sure how he overcame it though, but I believe it's due to age. Like, you will most likely not stutter in front of kids because they are much younger than you and you have a different mindset that makes you more confident of speaking to them. Same with him I guess, as he got older and people around him got younger, I believe he simply got into that mindset. Now he has no fear of speaking and can command a meeting with his speech. Of course, he still stutters every now and then, especially when he is nervous but it's not very noticeable.
