Uum not sure if this is the exact model, but the maintenance booklet I have for it calls it the ITC (In The Canal). Like i said it looks exactly like a hearing aid. As i said before i got it a few years ago, so they might have changed the designs since then and i cant find all my info on my device that I had when I first got it, so am unable to tell you the exact model. But yes, for sure, in small groups especially in school, this device (working along with your fluency skills) will help you tremendously. I have to strongly recommend to stay away from the "iPod" version of the Speech Easy though. I have met people who have had it (along with speech therapists who have worked with it) and they have complained a lot about technical issues, as well as the discomfort of having a ear phone in your ear with a cord hanging down when your speaking. For a few extra hundred dollars you can get the one that sits in your ear canal like i have, and apparently its well worth the money if you are serious about it. But then again, if all your looking to use it for is presentations and group projects, the 'iPod' one might not be a bad way to go. As long as you don't mind people wondering why it looks like your giving a presentation with an iPod in lol. Last piece of advice: if you can afford it, get it. If you save up a bunch of money or change your lifestyle extensively just to afford this device it probably wont be worth it. For me, the help it gave me wasn't worth that much (luckily i had a very good health plan at the time that subsidized the cost greatly). But some of my most proudest moments speaking have been by utilizing that device, so keep that in mind! I'm sorry for giving you a lot to think about, but its not everyday i get to tell someone my experience with the device. Good luck! If you happen to get it and remember about my comments, shoot me a message, i would love to hear about your experience and offer my advice in any way i can. Edit: I should probably throw in that it was luckily my parents who had the health plan that subsidized the cost of my device, not me (as i was still under 18 at the time). If I had to pay the full price of it at now, being 22 and independent, i don`t think i would.
