Anti-anxiety meds for stuttering? I'm 25 and have tried most things to cure my stutter but I seem to be stuck going from mild to severe when nervous. I read up about how some people have had success in using anti-anxieties (such as a mixture of Xanax and others) to improve or even cure their stutter. I'm curious to hear if anyone has tried this? If so, how would I go about asking to trial these drugs especially since people use them recreationally I feel as though they would think I was trying to do the same. I only have anxiety because of my speech in any other regard I'm fine. I'm milder when I'm talking to a friend therefore not anxious so in theory, it makes sense that it could work. Just as confidence improves speech too. I also saw a study about there not being enough blood flow to a certain part of the brain and the less blood, the more severe the stutter. Any idea how that could possibly be fixed if at all?
