You get no fucking respect at all when you stutter The moment you stutter the person you are talking to looks at you like a freak. It is so condensing. People treat me like a special needs child. I remember in high school girls would intentionally go up to me and talk to me just to be nice to the “Weird kid that stutters.” I feel “less of a man” when people don’t show me respect when I stutter. I’m often just in the background in a conversation and anything I say is disregarded.
