It is the same when you stutter.You are repeating what you are hearing, disfluency. Rewiring your brain with fluency will help you tremendously. If you can read out loud without stuttering, most of us can, do this for an hour every day. Practice talking in the mirror. The more you see yourself do this, your mind will flush the stutter memories away. Stress is a factor also. Auto Suggestions will help.
