Trust me, he knows and it’s also upsetting for him lol. Best to maintain eye contact if you can and let him finish what he’s trying to say. Don’t be afraid to repeat what you heard back to him to make sure you heard him correctly. I’m sure he appreciates your willingness to have a meaningful conversation with him :)
