In a way it _is_ our responsibility. But that's just in the general sense of taking care of ourselves. If we have a problem, we should deal with it. This doesn't mean it's our fault, it just means there's something we might do to improve things. Part of it is exactly mindset: We _should_ look for positives, as a way to progress out of a miserable life into a better one. Not saying we have to go around pretending we don't have a stutter, but we need to be constructive. Small steps and all that. We don't need people to understand everything about our circumstance in order to take care of ourselves.
