There are some jobs that we simply can't do. If your job completely relies on fluent speaking, it's going to be very difficult to advance in that area. Just like people in wheel chairs can't be linemen, we likely can't be auctioneers or trial lawyers. Please don't mistake this for negativity. There's a vast world of job opportunities out there for us. I work in IT and increasingly I have to get on conference calls and talk to vendors and customers. Speaking is obviously not my strong suit, but I still do it and I'm still employed. I'd say that as long as your job doesn't hinge entirely on speech fluency, the world is your oyster.
