I never spoke to this professor before as i was hesitant to do so, because I thought since I’d only be presenting for two minutes with a timer, I could just prepare a prompt that takes me about 1:30, that way I’d have the extra 30 seconds in case I stutter or block a lot. So I decided not to go through the whole process of figuring out how to ask him for an accommodation, when to approach him, and worrying about his reaction. That whole process makes me sweat just thinking about it. And since he’s only teaching us this semester, I felt it wasn’t necessary. With the other professor who did give me the accommodation, I approached her because I knew she was friendly and open to discussing a solution with me—and also because her presentation required me to speak for longer. In general, I always keep the option of telling professors about my stutter as a last resort.
