Its strange, i stutter very VERY badly when im on the phone, but i can somewhat hide it or pass it off to interview jitters when doing an interview in person. When i looked up the reason, its suggested that because its over the phone - its entirely reliant on being verbal and we cant use facial expressions or physical movements to help us through the blockage like we would in person. Perhaps, if this is the case for you too, try and have interviews in person if possible? If not, does reading written notes help at all? Even reading something like an introduction like "Hello, im so-and-so". What about looking in the mirror and repeating words or sentences out loud that you didnt deliver or deliver quite well previously? Sometimes hearing and seeing myself say things beforehand helps weirdly enough. It may be because i could hear and figure out a pattern to help avoid the stutter like: \*breathe\* Hi! \*pause\* thanks for calling \*pause\* im so-and-so Ive even had mock interview youtube videos play aloud and i reply to them, as if i were being interviewed - playing them on my phone and holding it like im on the phone with them, or computer like skype or zoom interview. If you cant avoid phone interviews, theres been times where i blamed the connection being bad when it wasnt at all. I would always stuff up saying my name or introducing myself, if i ever did mess up or get stuck while doing so i would pause and then say "hello?" and exclaim and apologise when they replied, saying that the line was bad there and quickly get my name out. Sorry that this reply is very long, but these are the things i have done to help me get through interviews. I hope this could help you or any other who stumbles across it.
