In Australia most SLPS treat only children, as childrens speech is a lot easier to correct as they develop, and i know quite a few McGuire members who became SLPs and are able to mix traditional speech therapy and the things they learned to manage and control their speech from the McGuire Programme and help kids daily. I am also an instructor on the McGuire Programme and obviously I strongly believe that only due to the fact that I have a stutter, I am in a position and qualified to help others with a stutter. Most SLPs do not stutter, and that's why most if not all, fail at treating teens and adults.
