> No thank you. I'll never hesitate to tell a parent to pursue effective speech therapy if their story merits it I never said not to suggest therapy. In fact, I was insinuating the opposite when I said, we should inform parents of options. My thing was when you broadcast in big letters, therapy IS the answer, as a desperate parent I am going to interpret that as "oh this is a surefire way tlto get my child to stop stuttering" And as we all know,it's way more nuanced than that. As someone who diligently tried therapy for decades and someone who has a father who has differing expectations I know what its like to try as hard as I can and have parents and therapists disappointed in me and think I am lazy or didn't try hard enough. What it left me with are fractured relationships and more complex trauma. I'm not against therapy, I even had some successes with it, but everyone is different, and every kind of stutter is different, and I think speaking in absolutes is a slippery slope.
