Great comment! Let's use the definition: Stuttering can be categorized between primary symptoms and secondary symptoms. The traditional view of primary symptoms is blocks, repetitions and prolongations. Newer alternative viewpoints - see the primary symptom as only the silent block (where the articulators are not moving), and where the secondary symptoms include repetitions, forcing, and other escape behaviors to try to get past a block. Another alternative viewpoint is, viewing primary symptoms as the internal sensation of being stuck or a feeling of being unable to continue speaking (sensation of loss of control). So, no viewpoint is wrong or right, so everyone can share their own viewpoint - on what they think indicates primary stuttering (the most core underlying problem) in their own stuttering experience
