Hey Daniel, good on you for taking action! I'm doing avoidance reduction therapy where I work on eliminating all my junk behaviors and try to stutter clean and free. Through this process im also learning to accept my stutter and myself as a person who stutterers. I tried learning control and techniques in the past and they never sat right with me. Learning to not control, but accept my stutter without having it control me is definitely the way for me. If the control stuff doesn't feel right to you, there are other options. It doesn't have to be all about fluency. Just a note on Toastmasters that i've heard from other stutterers. Some people get it, some people dont. You might get people praising your speeches on the merit of your fluency, rather than your communication. I feel it can be counterproductive to put a lot of weight on fluency and I hope you know that you can still be an excellent communicator, even with disfluencies.
