Always had it as far as I can remember it and I do occasionally get that whole repeating letters/syllables thing but that really doesn't bug me as much as the blocks (probably because I can get past the whole repeating thing fairly quickly). I don't think it's stress related because I even sometimes get blocks when I'm reading something quietly when I'm alone which is pretty weird if you ask me.
