My mom has a stutter but she's always shamed my stutter. She thinks I stutter just to copy her. Anyways, I was on the phone with her the other day and I was doing my usual stutter. She then asked me if my boyfriend was home (I live with him) and I said yes. She told me "oh, don't stutter around your man. You wouldn't want to do that. It might bother him or he might not like it" Huh???? One, im not stuttering on purpose so I can't just "not" stutter 😭 Second, what kind of old fashioned stuff is that, "don't do [blank] around your man"?? 😭 my man clearly knows I stutter and clearly it doesn't bother him if we're together cuz why would I be with someone who doesn't like me?? 😭
