Books I Read - That I Highly Recommend! This is a long overdue post from me. People here know me to share information that is somewhat unique to this subreddit. It's finally time to tell you all where I get all this information from. Or rather, the best places to learn how to improve the quality of your life (and your speaking). The thing I need you all to understand, before I list my recommended books, is everything I advocate for starts with changing your mindset and approach to life. While stuttering is a physical problem, there's a huge mental portion that we have to be mindful of. Without further ado, in random order, here's my recommended books: ► Relentless - Tim Grover ◄ An in-your-face, no holds barred book that highly emphasises extreme ownership and control. Written by Tim Grover who was the basketball coach for Michael Jordan during his golden days, Kobe Bryant and many others. Dropping many gems about working harder than everybody else and how you are the only person to make change for yourself. ► The Power of Your Subconscious Mind - Dr. Joseph Murphy ◄ Self explanatory title, and one of the most successful books in the self-development realm. An easy to read book that highlights how your subconscious mind can be used to develop positive health, wealth, relationships, and develop a much richer outlook on life. Teaching you the importance of being conscious of your thoughts. ► Radical Honesty - Brad Blanton ◄ Honestly, I've only read a small portion of this. However, it's enough for me to know this is a MUST READ. The premise of the book pretty much states that you're liberated through being radically honest - with yourself and others you speak to. It's unfiltered, but definitely a book we should all be reading. ► Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill ◄ A book that predates The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, also similar in nature, and is seen to be a landmark book in self-development and business. It's based on interviews of 500 of the greatest businessmen in the 20th century. Including Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison. What you'll learn about mindset, execution and perspective is invaluable! ► The Miracle of Mindfulness - Thich Nhat Hanh ◄ An incredible read that simplifies mindfulness. Written by a Buddhist Monk and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Breaks down into easy details ways of focusing on the present moment and clearing your mind. Through different meditation and mind practices. ► The Art of Effortless Living - Ingrid Bacci ◄ An insightful read on how we can reduce physical and mental tension in our lives. Through various exercises, we can all learn different ways to get more by doing less. ► As A Man Thinketh - James Allen ◄ A short, yet powerful, account on how our thoughts create our reality. This is the best way to describe this book without repeating myself. These are a small handful of books, out of many I have, that I highly recommend. I'm aware that a lot of people generally dislike reading books. In that case, I'll make another post in the coming weeks about websites, podcasts, and YouTube channels I highly recommend. Feel free to mention any books you've read that you highly recommend others to read! :-)
