""Every day, in every way, my speech gets bettee and better" \- I have the same mantra but worded differently: "removing reasons to stutter is progress" ""If I can say one word anywhere, anytime, I can say any word anywhere, anytime" \- Same, but I worded it differently "I say exactly what I want to say" and "I control my mouth muscles" \- "I love to speak; I love to say my name, \[your name\]" I don't have this one. Because this doesn't 'counter' any of my negative affirmations. ""When I speak, calm floods my body"" I don't have this one. I suggest to remove this one from your list, because it's the same as the 'main question' (main exercise name so no value). ""When I speak, I focus on passion and joy"" I love the idea but what if you are not happy? So change this one because it's a condition. In my case I have this mantra "I feel fluently with my mouth" ""I speak without planning my words"" This is your best affirmation. I worded it this way: don't look for stutter letters I don't search for words, I stutter on each letter as a heavy stutterer. "I trust my mind to choose my words" This is in my experience not important but I do have it in my mantra, I word it: "I trust that my body won't create stutters" ""I trust my mind to choose my words"" I don't have this one. I don't understand it, do you mean to say that you subconsciously choose words without 'planning text'? But I prefer to plan sentences ahead. Why condition yourself? Please elaborate. "I am loving awareness" I don't have this one. If you remove this, then fluency will improve because this mantra is a condition which creates reasons to expect stuttering (in my experience). On the other hand, if it's not your speech mantra then I guess that's fine. "I totally laughed at this concept at first, and didnt take it seriously, but i did it and its actually been very beneficial to help stabilize my mood and speech anxiety throughout the day! :)" In my opinion it has to do with my habit: looking for a stutter letter. By believing in the mantras, it becomes easier to feel and anticipate fluency in my experience. Tips: 1. In my experience when I repeat the mantras, don't just say them but replace them with the negative affirmations. 2. Also replace the mantras with looking for a letter to stutter on 3. don't just say the mantras, but also believe them and make them your habit. Fluency is part of you now, don't think you stutter anymore because if you don't anticipate anymore and 24/7 don't have stutter reasons then 'dealing with the stutter expectancy' is easier Question: 1. What is your opinion? 2. Do you have tips to stop expecting a stutter?
