Hi OP, I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine how tough this situation is on you as a parent. I’m not exactly sure what the S-LP did with your son (speaking quietly isn’t something we’ve learned in school - I’m an S-LP student who stutters btw!). Anyways, I would see if therapy is still an option. You have amazing therapist out there and sometimes it’s about finding the best fit for your son. Shopping around is totally normal as a client. There are also S-LPs who stutter, and what I would recommend for a teenager is group therapy with other individuals who stutter. Stuttering isn’t something that’s going to go away, but he can definitely control it (if he wants to). And there’s no shame of seeing one (I’ve seen one haha) and it has helped me a lot. Being a teenager is hard enough, so being accepting and non-judgmental is always the best. All the best OP, and let me know if you need anything more! PS: there are support groups out there too! And the stuttering foundation is an amazing place to start!
