Hello /u/ftus I'm 34 and I have no memory of ever speaking fluently prior to extensive therapy, I still stutter but I have more control over it. Where do you live? Can your school provide any speech therapy services. As far as being laughed at - the ones who laugh the hardest will be losers without a life by the time they're 30 (if not 20). Trust me... As for your mother hitting you, I'm soo sorry to hear that... Unfortunately many people aren't aware people like us have a disorder which we cannot control. I suspect that my mother educated a few of our neighbors when I was younger. I'd recommend showing your mother some websites like this: http://www.westutter.org/ and hopefully that'll help..
