Lisbeth: I was thinking about our exchange. It's not my business, but speech exercises miss the point entirely. At least for me looking back, 42 man now. That may actually subconsciously tell your son something is 'wrong' with him, and then anxiety quickens and it loops back around, and feeds the stuttering. This is not a muscle or vocal cord issue. It's mental almost every time unless he had tonsillitis w/surgery or cancer which he didn't I suspect. My parents spent alot of $ and put me in speech therapy. It had the opposite affect for me at least. Their is nothing 'structurally' damaged. All mental. Totally off topic, but a friend of mine (endocrinologist) said men with ED 70% of the time is caused by anxiety B/c of fear of failure. Sorry, couldn't think of a better analogy, but just trying to get my point across
