I hear ya. People care more about their own experience than those of the people around them. Not having a stutter is like having white privilege, people just don't understand until a true humble effort is made. All other efforts sound hollow. Example: set in the USA, non white non male looking human gets pulled over once a week for various reasons. White person drives though a sobriety check. Both have interactions are with cops but they are very different. It's cringe worthy if the white person says they know what it's like to be inconvenienced by the cops.
