I was born and raised in a former British colony in South Asia, and then moved to the US later in life. When I visit family overseas, I still use the accent they are familiar with (and easier to understand for them). I stutter, though very rarely, when I use that accent, whereas I don't when I use my American accent. It may have something to do with how the tongue is rolled.
