Right? My entire attitude toward stuttering is that it shouldn't be viewed as this terrible, sad, disfiguring characteristic; and that, as a disability, it should be treated as such-- it's widely frowned upon to comfort somebody with a more recognizable (?) disability, and probably isn't something that people even consider doing most of the time. You wouldn't try to walk for a paraplegic, so why are you trying to talk for me?
